What is required of residents?

Talbot House residents are required to live in a no-tolerance environment of “total abstinence” from alcohol or drugs where they will participate in a program of recovery that is designed to help them to stay sober. Weekly attendance and participation in AA meetings is required. Every man is required to obtain and maintain a job. And men are required to complete a house chore on a daily basis so that they can live in a clean and healthy environment.

How does someone get into the Talbot House?

Prospective residents must call the Talbot House Director and schedule an appointment for a face-to-face interview. At the time of the interview, an application for residency will be completed. The man will be approved for immediate move-in or will then be placed on a waiting list and must call the Director regularly to maintain his position on the waiting list. The prospective resident, upon approval by the Director, will be contacted regarding a move in date.
